Nowhere to Run, Nowhere to Hide

The Continental Divide Trail, June 14-July 11, 2005

About

"In the middle of the journey of my life, I came to a dark wood where the true way was lost." So said an old Italian man that I first met in a library during my early college years. I spent a month under the mirror of solitude examining my life and how I had spent it. More importantly, examining the question of Why. Crippled by recent events, I could not run away from myself once I left Canada and began walking south toward Mexico. With no one around, there was no place for me to hide from myself. My time was not so much about getting to some place or seeing some mountain as it was about recovering the true path.
